History

Performing since 2000, Sno-King Community Chorale has become an important part of our region’s cultural and arts community. We are a founding partner of the Edmonds Center for the Arts together with the Cascade Symphony and the Olympic Ballet.

The Chorale has appeared at Benaroya Hall in Seattle, McIntyre Hall in Mount Vernon, the Wine and Jazz Festival in Vancouver, Washington. Members of the Chorale have performed at and Carnegie Hall in New York City.  In 2014 our members toured Europe performing at the Alta Pusteria Music Festival in Italy, Innsbruck and Salzburg, Austria and Munich, Germany. The Chorale also travels within the King-Snohomish County region to perform at local events. The Chorale has performed with a number of well-known artists and groups including:

Artistic Staff

Dustin Willetts, Artistic Director/Conductor

Dustin Willetts is one of the most in-demand artistic directors of the Pacific Northwest. Willetts currently directs Kulshan Chorus (Bellingham, WA), Cantabile Chamber Choir (Skagit Valley, WA), and the Sno-King Community Chorale (Edmonds, WA)

Willetts was awarded a Master of Music from Western Oregon University. In addition to his artistic direction throughout the state of Washington, he started the Kulshan Youth Choir in Whatcom County, serves on the board of directors for the Seattle Children’s Chorus (since 2012), is an adjudicator and clinician, and performs as an instrumentalist (primarily on saxophone) for various events and sessions. Dustin and his wife, Lauren, live on Camano Island with their three fluffy-children. Read more here

Debbie DeMiero, Collaborative Pianist

Performer, teacher, adjudicator, accompanist and singer, Debra DeMiero earned her master’s degree in music from Washington State University with an emphasis in piano performance. She holds degrees in Piano Performance and Piano Pedagogy from Seattle Pacific University, and earned her A.A.S. degree from Edmonds Community College where she was a member of Soundsation and Symphonic Choir.
She has studied with Béla Nägy, Ruby Bailey-Ronald and Marcile Mack. In addition to serving on the music facility at EdCC, where she teaches Music Fundamentals and piano, Debra teaches privately and manages her home piano studio. She is the music director at St. Thomas More Parish in Lynnwood and an accompanist for the Seattle Children’s Chorus.
Debra lives in Brier, Washington, with her husband, Vince, and they have four children and three grandsons.

The Sno-King Community Chorale Board of Directors governs, advises, and oversees policy for the chorus.

Members participate in organizational leadership and advisement, formulation of policies and procedures, staff evaluation and development, promotion of the organization, fundraising, outreach, recruitment, and financial management.

On Veterans Day, November 11, 2017, the Sno-King Community Chorale presented a fundraising concert, Sing Out! For America, featuring the Brothers Four. Proceeds from this concert were donated to the Veterans Resource Center at Edmonds Community College.

Frank DeMiero

The Sno-King Community Chorale (SKCC) is pleased to announce the second annual Frank DeMiero Music Scholarshipan award to be given to a Edmonds Community College student  enrolled in the Music Department Program with the intent to pursue a music career. This award is made possible by donations from SKCC, friends and colleagues of Frank DeMiero, and the general public. DeMiero, recently retired and highly esteemed conductor/ artistic director of SKCC, has been a music educator since 1964. For more information click here.
